It’s been a busy start to the season for all teams from U12’s to Senior Mens, here are some updates throughout the month of October.
U12’s
Our U12’s squad has grown in numbers and are enjoying themselves down at the Crags Games. so far they have played a total of 6 games but the important part is that all have enjoyed themselves and developed their basketball. Well done to coaches Ellie, Jess and Ben for all their hard work.
U14’s
Our U14’s are taking part in the RDL competition and remain unbeaten in our first 4 games. All boys have been a credit to the club receiving many compliments from opposing coaches and parents. Well done to coach Jake who has taken on the team this year and is integrating new faces brilliantly into the Warriors Family.
U16’s
Our U16 NDL team has been evolving nicely but due to Holidays we have only played 2 games so far this season recording 1 win and 1 loss. Our U16’s also have several of our U14 players playing up to the higher age group, this is a testament to their hard work and dedication. Well done to our new Coach Ali for all his hard work with the team so far and we are looking forward to seeing what this team can achieve this year under his guidance.
U18’s
We have 2 teams entered into basketballscotlands National League Division 2 again this year. (Caledonia & Thistle) So far this year Caledonia remain unbeaten winning games against Highland Bears and Blaze. Thistle have had 3 nail bitting games, loosing by 4 points or less three times so far this year but are yet to get that first win. We also entered the Scottish Cup and after beating fellow Division 2 side Ayrshire Tornadoes in the first round we then fell by 20 points to a very good Division 1 side in Dunfermline Reign. But throughout the start to the season the boys all remain positive and again have been a credit to the club.
Senior Men’s
After a slow start to Division 3 in the Edinburgh Lothian League our Senior Men’s got their first pink sheet of the season after a win over Gracemount Panthers. With many new players joining the team this year this win was what they needed to kickstart their season after loosing the opening 2 games. All games are at Oriam on Friday nights.
